Video Symphony provides professional-quality training in entertainment media production. Our students work with Industry Professional Instructors that are working on the latest entertainment projects.
While the field of video editing has been in existence for decades, the widespread availability of digital technology and the internet has resulted in the rise of “new media,” or music and video intended to provoke two-way communication. Such productions often take the following forms:
Interactive Advertising
The advent of the internet and widespread use of cell phones has enabled advertisers to capture the attention of their target markets in new ways. Flash-based browser games, viral videos, animated banner ads, and campaigns involving text message responses draw consumers in and make them more receptive to advertising messages.
Online RPGs
As internet speeds have increased, the scale and detail of online role-playing games (RPGs) has grown correspondingly. 3D motion graphics technology is often used to create “cyber-worlds” that feel lifelike to users, encouraging them to spend more time within the game. These games offer unique opportunities for widespread communication and advertising.
Mobile Apps
Downloadable applications that feature animations or videos are extremely popular among owners of smartphones and tablets. Motion graphics are commonly utilized in apps, as they provide an intuitive and entertaining user experience.
Webcasts
An alternative to traditional television broadcasting, webcasts are video clips that are distributed through the internet. They can be produced live or kept available for users to watch at their convenience. Webcasts are often used by news corporations, politicians, and broadcasting channels to circulate information and attract web traffic. Viewers are sometimes invited to create filmed responses to webcasts, and certain video platforms even allow users to select among different story segments to create a more individualized viewing experience.
